One question often asked by those considering a vegetarian diet is; “Will I get enough protein? This is certainly a valid question, as protein is necessary for the building, maintenance and function of all body cells. In fact, a varied and well-balanced vegetarian diet actually provides all the protein the body needs, obtained by eating such things as whole grains, beans, nuts and soy products."

Excellent.

Just yesterday I wrote about the affects of humane killing of meat animals by some 'recovering' vegetarians, including myself, for some webzine pieces on chicken butchering.

Hi Jared!

I also read and loved Foer's "creative nonfiction" book. I actually met him last year in Jerusalem and I think that if he were a behavioral economist,he wouldcev been great.

I loved your analogy between the "hot" and "cold" states of sexual arousal to "hot and cold" states of hunger; people really can act irrationally depending on their physical state at the moment of decision.

As for hunger and decision-making, I have a friend that who is interested in finding how much people pay for their big weekly food shoppings at supermrkets -Such as Shaws, Meijer's, Sams' club, Wholefoods etc- at different times a day. He hypothesis is that people buy more food in pre-lunch-hours (11-2 PM) than in pro-lunch-hours (2-4 PM). He believes that hungry people pay more EVEN if they make a shopping list.

As for marketing, I want to show you the logo of the most poplar chicken company in Israel -

I was always wondering, why in the world is the chicken looking so happy?

In your Coke v dollar study, you concluded "Just the act of contemplating morality eliminated cheating," when in could be argued that the people just couldn't remember that many Commandments on a list that could be easily verified. The people could have told you any number of books they just happened to remember, thus cheating, but couldn't possibly cheat on naming something they couldn't remember on a list easily verified.

You were testing their memory, not their morality.
